Often a hard drive starts to make a repetitive clicking noise in regular intervals . The clicking noise indicates that the write head of a hard drive is trying to write data onto the hard drive but its unable to do so . This is a very common sign of failing hard drive.

The clicking sound itself arises from the unexpected movement of the hard drive's read-write actuator. At startup, and during use, the disk head must move correctly and be able to confirm it is correctly tracking data on the disk. If the head fails to move as expected or upon moving cannot track the disk surface correctly, the disk controller may attempt to recover from the error by returning the head to its home position and then retrying, at times causing an audible "click".

In some devices, the process automatically retries causing a repeated clicking sound. Assuming there is no corresponding damage to the hard drive platters, we can recover the data by opening the hard drive in our clean room and replacing the heads.

Firstly Order your repair online. Once your have proceeded through the checkout and made payment you will be automatically sent an order confirmation by email. This will contain your unique Order number.

Please print this out and include with your device in a box or padded envelope making sure it is properly protected. We recommend that you use Royal Mail’s Next Day Special Delivery service which is insured up to £500 and is fully trackable.
